1.11.2 Update
Hey everyone, ninjanunchucks4 here.I'm really excited to be covering the 1.11.2 update. This is an unusual update because bug fixes don't usually add this many features. Well let's get started.
The first feature I want to cover is the sweeping edge enchantment. What this enchant met does is increase the amount of damage done to secondary mobs/players in a sweep attack. This enchantment has three levels, each level increases the damage by a certain percentage up to 75%. This enchantment can be combined to with any sword enchantment, but it doesn't deal the other enchantments extra damage, only the base damage.
The second update I wanted to cover is the changes to fireworks and elytras. Fireworks that have firework stars now deal damage. This can be used to defend your base from players or mobs without dealing any block damage. My next post will be a simple, rapid fire firework canon that you can easily add to your builds. When you are killed by a firework you will get the death message: <Username> went out with a bang.
Now let's cover elytras. Fireworks can now be used to boost you while you are in flight mode. The flight duration of the firework affects how long the boost will last. This will make it much easier to travel log distances by elytra without taking damage from your punch bow. This also makes fireworks much more valuable, now that useless stack of paper that you have lying around in your chest just became alot more useful.
Now there have been three smaller changes made that I'm going to go over quickly. The first is the attack indicator. It appears when you have your cool-down bar set to cross-hair. It appears underneath your cool-down bar as an exclamation point when you are close enough to attack a player or mob. Iron nuggets were also added. they work the same as gold nuggets, except they're iron. you can also smelt gold and iron tools and armor into nuggets, this will be useful for all of those useless gold tools and armor you get in the nether and in loot chests.
